PHOENIX Renewables AG – A New Platform. A Clear Strategy. A Concrete Pipeline.

Phoenix Renewables AG is a newly established renewable energy development and restructuring platform focused on Greece.

Our model protects investor capital by operating exclusively at the Development & Add-Value Creation stage — eliminating construction and operational risk. Capital is recycled through short, efficient cycles rather than locked into long-term commitments.

Market Environment & Structural Opportunity

The Greek Energy Market as a Strategic Window

Greece is undergoing a fundamental energy transformation — driven by dynamics that create structural advantages for integrated platforms like Phoenix.

Market Structure & Key Drivers

82% Renewables by 2030

Greece's National Energy and Climate Plan (NECP) mandates a renewable share of ~82% in the electricity mix by 2030 — one of the most ambitious targets in Europe.

Grid Congestion as a Selection Filter

Against an installed grid capacity of ~19 GW, over 50 GW in grid connection applications are pending. Only prioritized, integrated projects gain access.

Revenue Pressure on Standalone PV

Small PV generators without storage recorded revenue losses of 62–70% in early 2026. Value is clearly shifting from pure generation toward flexibility and system integration.

Phoenix Advantage & Market Transactions

Regulatory Prioritization

Integrated systems (PV + BESS + Hydrogen + Bio-LNG) receive preferential treatment within the regulatory framework, unlocking faster permitting and grid access.

RTB Market with High Liquidity

International infrastructure funds, private equity houses, and utilities are actively seeking de-risked assets with clear RTB status. Demand consistently exceeds the supply of high-quality projects.

Recent Reference Transactions

Asterion acquired a 50% stake in a 424 MW portfolio from TotalEnergies for ~$300M. ContourGlobal took over a 500 MW BESS pipeline — both confirming sustained strong buyer interest.

Project Pipeline

Project Pipeline – Phase 1

Phoenix is developing a diversified portfolio of renewable energy projects across Greece – spanning early-stage development through to Ready-to-Build (RTB) status.

880 MW

Total BESS capacity across 8 projects

~75 MW

Hydropower across 16 run-of-river plants

FGRID

Primary Technical Partner – Renewable Energy Licensing & Development

Founded in 2016 in Greece, FGRID is a pure engineering firm staffed exclusively by engineers with multinational corporate experience. Specialising in the full lifecycle of renewable energy projects — from pre-planning and permitting to construction and O&M management — FGRID has licensed over 2,150 MW of renewable capacity and achieved a CO₂ reduction of 3,590,000 tonnes. Their deep mastery of the Greek regulatory licensing environment makes them an indispensable partner for navigating complex grid and permitting processes. www.fgrid.com

Regazz B.V.

Bioenergy Development Partner – Circular Biogas & Bio-LNG Systems

Headquartered in Oisterwijk, Netherlands, Regazz develops 100% circular biogas installations with triple environmental benefits. Their technology transforms agricultural residual flows into Bio-LNG fuel for the transport sector, turning farmers into energy producers alongside food producers. With a strong international partner network including EnviTec and Nordsol, Regazz serves as the system integrator for all Phoenix Bio-LNG plants, led by Frans Geerts — an agricultural engineer and Bio-LNG expert with 20+ years of experience. www.regazz.eu

Risk Management & Investor Protection

Active Risk Management at Portfolio Level

Phoenix actively manages risks through portfolio diversification, a probabilistic portfolio model, and structured investor protection – no single project bears the total risk alone.

🔌 Grid Connection Risk

Risk: Limited grid access due to capacity constraints.

Mitigation: Hybrid system design integrating storage and hydrogen; regulatory prioritization through Strategic Investment Status; allocation toward grid-independent assets.

⚙️ Development & Execution Risk

Risk: Delays in permitting or project development.

Mitigation: Focus on advanced brownfield assets with existing AEPO permits; FGRID partnership; standardized development processes.

📉 Market & Pricing Risk

Risk: Revenue pressure from volatile spot prices or market shifts.

Mitigation: Regulated FiT for hydropower; long-term PPAs; structurally supported Bio-LNG demand with limited spot market exposure.

🏦 Exit Market Risk

Risk: Limited liquidity upon project sale or adverse timing.

Mitigation: Early buyer engagement; rolling monetization model; COD optionality; diversified buyer universe spanning infrastructure funds, PE, and utilities.

Portfolio Approach: No Single-Project Risk

Phoenix operates on a probabilistic portfolio model – overall success does not depend on the outcome of any individual project. Risks are distributed across technologies, locations, and development stages. Even in a downside scenario, the portfolio generates sufficient value to remain highly attractive.

Flagship Asset

The Thessaly Model – Circular Economy in Practice

The cornerstone of the Phoenix portfolio is an integrated energy system in the Thessaly region, connecting agriculture, energy generation, and circular economy principles into a closed-loop value chain.

Why Thessaly?

Thessaly is Greece's most significant agricultural region – with high livestock density (sheep, goats) and a structural surplus of agricultural residues. This creates the ideal foundation for a fully integrated Bio-LNG platform.

📦 Bio-LNG Production

~200,000 t/year manure + 16,000 t/year poultry waste → ~10,000 t Bio-LNG/year. Offtake secured through Regazz B.V., an established European renewable gas trader.

PV/BESS Energy Hub

100 MWp solar + battery storage supply the energy backbone for Bio-LNG production and water electrolysis – structurally reducing grid dependency.

🔬 Hydrogen & Methanation

18 MW electrolyser produces green hydrogen, which directly increases Bio-LNG output via methanation – fully integrated into the system.

🌱 Agricultural Value-Add

Farmers receive EU-compliant manure disposal (EU Nitrates Directive) + long-term feedstock contracts. Byproducts flow directly back into agricultural use.

The Closed-Loop Value Chain

The system creates a self-reinforcing value cycle – each component strengthens the others:

01

Agricultural Sector Supplies Feedstock

Manure & residues from Thessaly's farming industry serve as a secured, zero-cost feedstock

02

Bio-LNG Plant Converts Output

Anaerobic digestion + upgrading to high-purity Bio-LNG with an international offtaker in place

03

PV/BESS Powers the System

Solar power and storage supply energy for production & electrolysis – with the Bio-LNG plant as anchor offtaker

04

Hydrogen Increases Output

Green H₂ via methanation raises Bio-LNG yield and overall system efficiency

05

Byproducts Return to Agriculture

RENURE, compost & ammonium sulfate close the loop and create local value
